2019 Longos Mural

Longos, ampersand studio and OCAD University are excited to announce a new partnership and opportunity for current OCAD U students and recent grads in the Faculty of Art. The opportunity seeks a large-scale art mural that features as a focal point of a dining hall located in the Liberty village. The dining hall is part of a new concept store format that has been designed by ampersand studio for Longo’s opening on November 01, 2019. The dining hall is a gathering space for people to come together for breakfast, lunch or dinner to celebrate food, grab a drink at the bar, grab a gourmet cup of coffee at the coffee truck and enjoy the wide selection of globally inspired locally sourced meals.

Partial x OCAD U: Call for Students

Come Up To My Room 2020 x OCAD U

Come Up To My Room invites OCAD U students and graduates to propose a site-specific, immersive installation that stimulate the imagination and encourage discussion and dialogue between contributors and visitors alike. Successful applicant(s) will transform a hotel room into a complete immersive, “otherworldly” environment art installation. In addition to the exhibition opportunity, the Career Launcher recipient will also receive a production grant from the CEAD.

OCAD University’s Faculty of Art is looking for a Collections Assistant (Preparation) to support Faculty of Art initiatives related to the IArts Residency Program and The IArts Project Fund, specifically the auction of works in a private family collection comprised primarily of Indian contemporary art. Reporting to the Junior Collections Manager and the Associate Dean, Outreach & Innovation, the Collections Assistant (Preparation) will manage all tasks related to preparation of works in the collection, including storing, moving, stretching, mounting, framing and exhibition installation.

/edition Art Book Fair and the Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers are excited to announce the OCADU Emerging Artist & Publisher section at the /edition Art Book Fair 2019 from October 24 to 27, 2019. Emerging bookmakers, photographers, publishers, printmakers artist's multiple-makers and ephemera-enthusiasts are invited to submit an application for a complimentary half-booth where you can sell editioned prints, books, or other artworks to a growing audience of over 10,000 artists, curators, collectors, and book-lovers.

Xpace Programming Coordinator

Xpace Cultural Centre welcomes applications for the Career Launcher position of Programming Coordinator. The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers (CEAD) is excited to announce the 6th annual Artscape Youngplace Career Launcher. This year, Photgraphy students are offered the opportunity to participate in a group exhibition in the Hallway Galleries of Artscape Youngplace. Technical Director

Through a creative partnership with the Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra (TYWO), selected students from OCAD’s Digital Painting Expanded Animation program will work with the Career Launcher Technical Director to produce a 25 minute silent compilation of animatedshorts to accompany the live concert of Pictures at an Exhibition, written in 1874 by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky. This musical composition is a series of ten pieces that illustrate ten paintings by the composer’s departed artist friend.

Impact and Engagement Assistant

The Gardiner Museum welcome applications to the Impact and Engagement Assistant position. The Impact and Engagement Assistant reports to the Programs Manager, and is a member of the Curatorial, Education & Programs team. This position is responsible for supporting the public engagement by increasing awareness of the Community Arts Space (CAS). They will work in collaboration with Gardiner staff, CAS neighbourhood hubs, OCADU, and other key stakeholders.

Toronto Outdoor Art Fair

The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair Career Launcher award for students in the Illustration and Material Art & Design programs. Eligible students will have the opportunity to exhibit in the 58th year of this annual event; Canada's largest and longest-running juried contemporary outdoor art fair. TOAF was established to nurture artistic excellence and an entrepreneurial spirit, and to showcase contemporary work to the general public. This free public event showcases works by over 350 exhibitors and attracts 115,000 visitors each year to Nathan Phillips Square.

Programming Development Assistant

Prefix Institute of Contemporary Art is seeking a part-time employee for the position of Programming Development Assistant. The Assistant will be responsible for two key aspects of the organization’s activities. The first area consists of conducting a review of Prefix’s programming history in order to contribute to preparations for the gallery’s twentieth anniversary. An ideal candidate must have a view to inclusivity and diversity, building capacity and changing the landscape of future Canadian leaders in arts, education and culture. The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce the return of the Parks Canada Career Launcher for Photography students. Students are invited to apply for this opportunity and a successful applicant will be employed at Rouge Park - Canada’s first national urban park. The recipient will split their time between the office and the filed; processing images in the Rouge National Urban Park photo library, shooting imagery and doing graphic design. Successful applicant will also receive a $500 equipment grant from the CEAD.
