Writers Guild of Canada Screenwriting Awards Statue Call for Artists
The Writers Guild of Canada and the RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers are excited to announce an opportunity for a sculptor from the OCAD U Community to develop a new award statue for WGC Screenwriting Awards. The artist be awarded a total of $7,150 which includes $4,000 for award statue development, $2,500 for reproduction rights worldwide in perpetuity, and a $650 production budget for up to two metal prototypes.

Sankofa Square Black History Month Digital Exhibition Call for Artists
Sankofa Square (formerly Yonge-Dundas Square) and the Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers are excited to announce the annual Black History Month Digital Exhibition Career Launcher providing an exhibition opportunity for artists from the OCAD U community to exhibit their work on the square’s digital screens. Selected artists will receive a fee of $500 for their artworks to be displayed across five (5) digital screens for the duration of Black History Month in February 2025.

Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival, Graphic Designer

Hallmark and OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers are excited announce an interior mural Career Launcher. Hullmark is seeking two (2) artists who will each be awarded $2,500 for artwork development and delivery of high-resolution digital files for a permanent mural within the interior stairwell of the 115 Larchmount property.

Hullmark and OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers are excited announce a a large-scale mural Career Launcher. A project budget of $13,000 (for artwork development and delivery of high resolution digital files) will be awarded to an OCAD U student or grad to realize a temporary mural on the exterior hoarding of 1071 King St. West construction site.

Ignite Gallery Call for Curators Career Launcher
OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers (CEAD) and Ignite Gallery have partnered to co-create a Career Launcher for emerging Curators. The opportunity will select one (1) emerging curator to curate an exhibition at Ignite Gallery for the 2024 program cycle from Ignite’s annual call for artists. The selected applicant will receive curatorial guidance from the Coordinators of Ignite Gallery at all points throughout the project.

Whippersnapper Gallery OCAD U Storefront Career Launcher
The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce the Whippersnapper Gallery OCAD U Storefront Career Launcher. From mid-July to mid-August 2024, Whippersnapper Gallery and OCAD U’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers have collaborated to bring together a rotating storefront display of artworks and goods produced by OCAD U students and recent grads. Each weekend, three artists/creators/groups will be given the space in Whippersnapper Gallery’s storefront space to sell their work to the public.

Slate is seeking proposals for a rotating public art exhibit that will animate the lobby of 2 St. Clair West in the Yonge St. + St. Clair Avenue Westcommunity. Slate welcomes Drawing & Painting students graduating in 2024, working in all mediums to submit proposals. Selected artists will receive a $3,000 rental fee for the 6-month display of their works.

This is a great opportunity for artists and designers interested in screen printing, stationary, learning more about how to run a print studio, and working with local artists. Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography Residency Career Launcher
The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce the Gallery 44 Residency Career Launcher for OCAD U students. One (1) successful applicant will be awarded a Full Membership with Gallery 44 ($190 value), $500 in credits to go towards the rental of Gallery 44 equipment and facilities, and $250 to go towards the cost of production. The selected artist will work towards a self-directed final project oriented towards their goals to be determined with Gallery 44's Head of Membership and Facilities.

Contemporary Textile Studio Co-op Residency
The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce the return of the Contemporary Textile Studio Artist Residency Career Launcher for students or recent grads (2023, 2024). Two (2) successful applicants will be awarded a 9 week self-directed residency with Contemporary Textile Studio Cooperative ($550 value) which grants them access to the co-op’s studio, facilities and equipment. Mentorship from one to two studio members will be provided. Additionally, the CEAD will provide the selected artists with $300 to support the cost of materials and supplies during their residency.
