OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION

OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce a creative opportunity in partnership with Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival for the role of a Festival Creative Artist.

In their commitment to uplift and showcase Asian Canadian voices, stories, creativity, and art, Reel Asian seeks to commission an animator to create a 20-sec animation to serve as the base artwork for the creative campaign of the upcoming 28th edition of the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival happening in November 2024. The base artwork will be used to inform the artistic direction of the 2024 festival’s branding and identity. The animation may be used for promotions on social and pre-roll before festival screenings. Past projects have also been featured in television, streaming, and transit stations.

Founded in 1997, the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival (Reel Asian) is a unique showcase of contemporary Asian cinema. As Canada’s largest pan-Asian film festival, Reel Asian provides a public forum for Asian media artists and their work and fuels the growing appreciation for Asian cinema in Canada. In addition to the annual film festival, Reel Asian organizes year-round programming and educational initiatives in partnership with local schools and arts organizations around the GTA. Reel Asian will be celebrating its 28th annual festival with an in-person and online edition in November 2024.
