Partial Gallery Call for Artists

Partial Gallery and OCAD University are excited to announce the return of our partnership which provides an exceptional career opportunity for OCAD U student artists and recent alumni (2020). 40 selected artists will be given complimentary 1 year Pro Accounts on Partial and inclusion as featured artists within the OCAD University Artist Showcase on Partial’s online platform in order to showcase their works, and administrate artwork sales and rentals.

G44 Production Membership

G44 and the Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers are excited to announce the return of the Gallery 44 Career Launcher providing Production Memberships to three (3) recent OCAD U graduates. This exclusive membership opportunity will provide access to Gallery 44 production facilities, equipment rentals and programming for sixteen months, starting June 1, 2020 to support the graduates’ upcoming exhibitions, continued creative production and professional opportunities.

The Momus Emerging Critics Residency

Momus, in partnership with OCAD University, invites applications for the first Toronto edition of the Momus Emerging Critics Residency, taking place from August 17-21 (in-class), with an option for remote writing mentorship August 24-28. Open to industry professionals, OCAD U faculty, senior students, and graduates, this intensive summer program aims to foster the next generation of art writers and publishers through mentorship and practical skills development.

The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce the return of the Akin Collective Career Launcher for Drawing & Painting and Material Art & Design students in their graduating term. Career Launcher Fund 2020

The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers (CEAD) is excited to announce the return of the Career Launcher Fund for students participating in GradEx 105 or convocating in 2020 (incl. students completing courses in Fall 2020). This fund supports activities relating to your early career success as you transition out of school. Eligible activities could range from supporting your professional presence at GradEx 105, such as covering the cost of printing business cards, attending residencies and workshops, or presenting your work professionally outside of school.

2020 Toronto Online Art Fair

The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce the return of Toronto Outdoor Art Fair Career Launcher award for students in the Illustration, Material Art & Design, Photography and Printmaking/Publications programs. Eligible students will have the opportunity to exhibit in the 59th year of this annual event; Canada's leading juried outdoor art fair. TOAF was established to nurture excellence and an entrepreneurial spirit, and to showcase contemporary work to the general public. This free public event showcases works by over 360 exhibitors and attracts 130,000 visitors each year.

Students are invited to apply for this opportunity and four (4) successful applicants will be awarded one year of free studio space in 401 Richmond in from June 2020 to May 2021. 2020 Black History Month, Florence

OCAD U professor Andrea Fatona and senior undergraduate Criticism and Curatorial Practice student, Leaf jerlefia (Watson), will collaborate with BHMF, international curator Simone Frangi, and artists Binta Diaw, Francis Offman, Raziel Perin, and Emmanuel Yoro Gallagher to develop the first phase of a project that will see dialogue and exchange between emerging Italian artists and Black Toronto-based emerging artists and curators.
