The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce that Dana Prieto, a recent graduate of OCAD University’s Drawing and Painting program, is the recipient of this years’ Walnut Studios Career Launcher! Dana was announced as the recipient during the group exhibition at Walnut Contemporary, and will receive a free studio space at Walnut Studios from August 2016 to August 2017.

Now in its 3rd year, the Walnut Studios Career Launcher offers graduating Drawing & Painting students the opportunity to showcase elements from their final body of work in one of Toronto’s most dynamic gallery spaces. During the exhibition, a jury made up of faculty and Walnut Studios will select an artist to receive a free studio space for a year. This is an amazing opportunity to become part a larger creative community and gain access to the excellent multidisciplinary facilities that Walnut Studios has to offer.

Nine artists from OCAD University were selected for the group exhibition: Azadeh Elmizadeh, Dana Prieto, Ghazaleh Baniahmad, Hye In Jung, Lindsay Ferriss, Nathalie Moreno Garcia, Rocío Candelaria Soncini, Sara Ghahramanimonfared, and Yan Wen Chang.
