The Artist Project Contemporary Art Fair and The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers are excited to announce Andre Baynes as the reipient of the Artist Project Career Launcher.
The Show Director will select a successful applicant and The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers will provide a $2,000 production grant towards the realization of this outstanding opportunity.

Andre Baynes is an artist and designer using storytelling, open-source technology, and a range of materials to explore possible futures. His West Indian cultural roots in food, flora, and folklore act as the basis for work that is informed by the complex history of human migration and settlement. Andre’s skill in industrial design, interactive media, and amateur horticulture give him the ability to create works that invite viewers to become immersed in an extensive speculative world.

Andre Baynes is an artist and designer who uses storytelling and technology to explore cultural bias in environmentalism and social innovation. His West Indian cultural roots in food, flora, and folklore act as the basis for work that is informed by the complex history of human migration. Andre’s background in industrial design, digital media, and interactive technology gives him the unique ability to create works that are story-driven, immersive and cooperative.
The Artist Project features original works from over 250 carefully juried, contemporary artists. Artists from a variety of geographic & creative backgrounds will converge & connect with patrons looking to get a glimpse of tomorrow’s Art Stars.
