Career Launcher: Artist Project

James Knott

Under Construction explores the notion of the "constructed realities", particularly from a queer perspective, with the use of absurdity and camp theatrics as a coping mechanism. The performance project seeks to accept unfortunate realities; transmuting negative experiences through building subverted realities by arranging and re-arranging blocks into new architectural formations, creating new sets and environments from which to inhabit; before deconstructing and reconstructing anew.

The Artist Project Contemporary Art Fair and The Centre for Emerging Artists and Designers are excited to announce the return of the Artist Project Career Launcher for an upper-year student or recent graduate of the Integrated Media or Sculpture/Installation programs. Students and recent alumni are invited to apply for this paid opportunity which provides a professional venue and large public audience for their work.

The Show Director will select a successful applicant and The Centre for Emerging Artists and Designers will provide a $1,500 production grant towards the realization of this
outstanding opportunity. We invite you to participate in the 11th annual show of the
Artist Project by submitting a project proposal for this career launcher.
