OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION

Trinity Square Video (TSV) and the Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers are excited to announce aCareer Launcher providing an exhibition opportunity for one (1) media artist from the OCAD U community to exhibit their work at Trinity Square Video’s Vitrine at 401 Richmond St. throughout the month of September 2025. The successful applicant will receive an exhibition fee of $600 (provided by TSV) plus a material and installation fee of $600 (provided by CEAD).

Trinity Square Video (TSV), one of Canada’s leading artist-run centres for media arts, invites applications from currentOCAD students and recent alumni to exhibit existing work in our VitrineSeries. This is a paid opportunity to showcase time-based, new media, or conceptual work in our visible 24/7 display case that connects TSV’s programming to passersby and gallery visitors.

We are prioritizing submissions from artistswho identify as Black, Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQIA+, disabled, and/or from equity-deserving communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TIMELINE

The selected emerging artists will:

  • Work closely with TSV staff to ensure artworks are delivered and installed according to the timeline below.
  • August 20, 2025: Artists selected and notified by this date
  • September 2, 2025: Install artwork
  • September 4 – 30, 2025: Exhibition Dates 

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Please provide the following information in one PDF document:

  • Full contact information (Name, phone, and email)
  • Current resume or CV 
  • Website and/or social media
  • Artistic statement/bio (150 words max)
  • Project Description (ie: about the artwork and how you plan to install it in the TSV Vitrine (300 words max) 
  • Up to 5 - 8 support materials – images, links, or PDFs (Link to videos or images proposed for the project (Vimeo, Youtube, Google Drive, or your website). Please do not send more than 2-3 videos or 5-8 images.
  • A corresponding list for the support images including: artist name, title, year, medium, size, and duration (for time-based work). 
  • Technical needs – A/V equipment, monitors, lighting, etc.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Current OCAD U undergraduate students in any discipline who have completed a minimum of 15+ credits graduating in 2026 
  • or current OCAD U Master's students  
  • or recent OCAD U Alumni who graduated in 2025 or 2024  

*Collectives and groups are welcome to apply as long as the group consists only of eligible OCAD U students/grads. Please note: one (1) exhibition fee per group or collective (rather than each individual member). 

*Priority may be given to applicants who have not previously received a Career Launcher opportunity
