2022 Membership Career Launcher, Trinity Square Video (TSV)
Congratulations to Sophie Duarte, Sofia Lagrotta and Walker Akhlaghi on being the recipients of the Trinity Square Video Membership Career Launcher.
Walker Akhlaghi is a Persian and Korean mixed media artist based in Toronto. They have aclassically trained arts background but branched into experimental film,illustration, and animation while at OCAD University. They strive tocreate works for the unconventional, focusing mainly on themes of raw queerexpression, mental health, and horror.
Founded in 1971, Trinity Square Video (TSV) is one of Canada’s first artist-run centres and its oldest media arts centre. For 50 years, Trinity Square has been a champion of media arts practices. Their activities are guided by a goal to increase their members’ and audiences’ understanding and imagination of what media arts practices can be. Trinity Square strives to create supportive environments, encouraging artistic and curatorial experimentation that challenge medium specificity through education, production and presentation supports.
The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce the inaugural Trinity Square Video Membership Career Launcher for students in their graduating term. Three (3) successful applicants will be awarded a Producing Membership with TSV ($100 value) and $500 in credits to go towards the rental of TSV equipment, and participation in workshops. TSV offers equipment such as cameras, lenses, lights, projectors, screens, 360 cameras, and audio gear just to name a few. Past workshops at TSV include focuses on AR & VR, character development, script writing, software such as Blender, the Adobe Creative Suite, Da Vinci Resolve, and much more. This is an amazing opportunity to become part of a larger creative community and gain access to the excellent multidisciplinary facilities that Trinity Square Video has to offer.
